The Hayes Hurricanes

Hayes Hurricanes were formed in 1995 and had their first league game in 1996. A few of the original members are still playing for us! We seldom scored more than 50 runs in the beginning but have grown over the years into one of the best women’s clubs in the country.

We run cricket for all ages with dedicated coaches and administrative help. Sunday mornings is Colts coaching and younger girls are welcome to come to train with softer balls out on the field. The U11 age group enter Festivals and play Kwik cricket and have the opportunity for hard ball coaching if they progress. We enter the North West Cricket League with the U13 girls who play pairs hard ball cricket. This can lead to a Kent playoff to find the best side in the County.

U13 age group and older have net practices on Tuesdays coached by qualified coaches in a safe environment. The second and first teams also train Tuesday’s and this is a chance for the younger girls to see what is in store for them if they continue with the game. They can see County players, ex-England and current England players as Hayes Hurricanes has a selection of them all!

The women’s second team started in Division 4 and through promotion will now be competing in Division 1. The first team are a Premier side and play top class cricket on our main wicket. They won the Premier National League 2009 which placed them as top in the country.

We offer the best wickets to visiting opposition and the best teas. The Hurricanes will be successful for many years to come as there is a clear progression offered to youngsters from festivals, to friendlies, to leagues to championships. The pathway from playing as a youngster to playing for your country is established and we look forward to the future. Come and join us - everyone welcome!
