Congratulations to Lydia Greenway and the England women’s cricket team who won the World Cup during March in a tight final against New Zealand – Lydia has played all her cricket at Hayes and has been a regular in the England side for the past 5 years and we are all extremely proud of her achievements – an example to us all that hard work and commitment does pay-off. We look forward to welcoming Lydia and her medal back to Hayes!
There has been plenty happening with the Colts over the winter and I am delighted that Sue Duke has accepted the post of Director of Coaching at Hayes, with special responsibility for developing our Colts section. Sue inherits a healthy set-up and is looking forward to meeting you all, either at the signing-on night or early in the season. Sue is heavily involved in cricket, working with the Bromley Development Group and also in developing our links with local schools under A Chance to Shine
As usual we have entered a full complement of teams in the North Kent Junior League and these games get under way at the end of April so there’s no time to waste in getting signed up!
Lydia is just one of many cricketers who have progressed their cricket at Hayes and although we can’t guarantee that everyone will be a World Cup Winner, we can guarantee that we will do our utmost to help you all achieve your cricketing potential.
And finally, the 200 Club is an important source of income for the Club and we expect all members/families to have at least one number in the draw, with the opportunity to win 4 different cash prizes each month. Payment is by standing order and is only £2 per month per number. We will have standing order mandates and forms available on signing-on night. Please don’t wait to be approached – with all the sides that we are running this year, we need every bit of income to help fund equipment and coaching and you’ll have a chance of winning every month.
